My vet examines them in front of me. If they need a shot, she won't let me hold them because she doesn't want them to associate pain with me. Mine don't seem to care one way or the other. They love going to the vet and Bubba smiles his biggest smile for the vet tech. If she has to draw blood the vet tech takes them in to another room for her.
