I have had several singleton litters over the years and I have found that they do have a tendency to get to fat and they are slower to start walking because they are over weight. A while back I had a mom have 2 pups and four days later one had a litter of 5 so I let the mom with the litter of two raise one of the pups from the litter of five.

In your case, I think you are doing the right thing with just letting the single pup spend some time with the other pups. As the puppy gets a little older you can let him spend more and more time with the other pups. I have noticed with larger litters the pups usually start walking around 3 to 3 1/2 weeks and with small litters or 1 or 2 the pups may not walk well until they are 4 to 5 weeks old. They are all different.
