Reputable breeders completely stand behind each one of their puppies. Firstly, the breeder should be health testing their dogs to be sure they're not affected by the many diseases that Yorkies are prone to....although they haven't discoved the marker for gene carriers. Health guarantees that require the pup to be returned if it develops a health problem is completely worthless. You've already bonded and aren't going to return it...backyard breeders know that. You should be allowed to keep the pup and a reputable breeder would help cover the vet costs for the surgery etc.
