I just think I was in such a state of confusion I over looked this. Diagnosis: Doxycycline liver hepatopathy (presumed) xrays reveal a small liver, bloodwork reveals severe elevation to the liver values as well as cholesterol. ALT and GGT are mildly improved.ALP is largely underchanged. Vomiting and apetitie have improved with supportive care included intravenous fluids, antacids/milkthistle/antioxidantsuppliment,ampicillin,flagyl,anti-nauseamedications, vitmamin k1 and narcotic pain relief. Abdominal ultrasound by specialist rules out an overt liver or pancreatic tumor. The mesentric lymph nodes are normal. The adrenal glands are normal lowering the clincial suspicion for concurrent cushing's disease. Any Opinions on this? |
I do not know about the cushings as that is Ann's expertise there

as her dog has that
The vitamin K they use for dogs that get into poisons like rat poison so they used that to offset the toxin. The Narcotic for pain sounds like they may have used Tramadol possibly or torbutrol and may be why they did milk thistle soley rather than using sam-e and milk thistle as sam-e should not be mixed with tramadol and posted the link below as it has not been thoroughly tested so may be why as they are being real cautious now with everything with her since she had a reaction.
Ann do you think they could rule it out for cushings with that urine test you mentioned on that other thread with the pomeranian? Just curious as i know you mentioned that urine test and was not too expensive.
