I have really paid my dues with some terrible vets!

I am lucky now to have a team of vets who are amazing, we have a general vet, well an office with three vets and they are great for everyday things plus most importantly they are very open to the fact that I use a specialty hospital as well and are always willing to call and speak with any of the specialists and listen to their treatment plan.

We use a big specialty hospital as well, they pretty much have every specialist imaginable, which is nice because if one person can't figure something out chances are someone else can.

I believe owners really need to do their own research and take their dogs care seriously, like EVERY profession, there are some really great vets and some really bad ones. You need to make sure you are doing your own research and only allowing the vet to do what you feel comfortable with. I think a really good vet appreciates a proactive owner who is taking a real interest in their pets care.
