Default How long can they 'hold' it

I have a 7 month old female, very timid. We got her at 5 and a half months of age. She gets the 'go pee' outside no problem at all. She even stares at me while going as if to say 'see how smart I am'. Its cute. Anyways, I have been putting her out between 1030 and 11 at night, then I wake up at 3 or 4 and taker her out then. She seems to be fine. She has gone a long period without peeing in her crate, but just this last week, she has started going in her crate at night. She doesn't wimper or indicate in any way that she needs to go. Just curious as to how long your dogs can go without peeing. I know the age rule, so she should be able to go the night.....don't know why she can't or won't. She came from a breeder and lived in a cage with pee pads at one end. Her crate that I put her in at night is very small, but she still has a bit of room to move. Maybe I should cut that off to stand up/turn around size again. I know to be patient, but it is a bit frustrating when you make so much headway, then poof, it seems to disappear. I guess I just need to be encouraged right about now.....
