I just recently received a Nikon DS3000. I don't feel that I am getting better quality pictures than a standard digital camera. (this may just be operator error )

I realize I need to purchase additional lenses, any suggestions on which one I should add first that will make the most difference? If it helps I take most pictures outside and try to capture detail up close.

Here is what I am getting and just don't feel it's as good as it should be. (maybe I'll take a class or two)
