Amy, I purchased a 30" crate off of e-bay for our puppy. It came with a divider so you can make the crate smaller. He went in the crate a few times but soon figured it out. I was going to buy another crate (because now we had 2 yorkies) but soon found out that they both prefered to stay in the one crate together. I purchased one of those lambswool bedliners for it and I think they actually like it. I would leave the puppy in for longer and longer times to get used to holding off peeing. It seems to have worked. Now they both know that when we leave the house they have to go into there lil (bed). Soon as we get home we let them out and they both run for the door...Hope this helps you out.
