If your yorkie is small you can pick him up by the scruff of his neck. A lot of the time this calms the dog and "immobilizes" them. Alternatively, I think there is a new product out that it like a thick paste. The vet puts it in and it stays there for awhile. There are some concerns with it and I'm not recommending it b/c I've never seen it used (or even know the name of it), but it is something your vet could look into doing.
