Rocco had to go pee at about 2am this morning, which he hasn't done in a long while. Being a bit out of practice, I decided to forego my robe and take him wearing just a t-shirt and underwear. My eyes were scratchy and barely opened when I took him out and I turned on only the back door light (given what I was wearing). After about a minute outside, Rocco (on leash) walked toward the other side of the yard, and in the shadow I saw something white and fluffy that moved...it was a SKUNK, about 20 feet away. I screamed at the top of my lungs, yanked Rocco up into my arms and started running toward the back door. My husband must have heard me scream and turned on the back spotlight in the middle of my frantic run. I laugh when I picture what I must've looked like...running and screaming across the back yard in underwear, in full spotlight with a puppy tucked under my arm! Well, needless to say Rocco looked at me like I was a nutbag, went right back into his crate and he never even got to pee. He must've thought his crate was a safer bet than this crazy lady at 2am!
