Default lost my best friend

I always knew as a kid that I wanted 2 yorkies when I graduated from college I got them, in 2004 I got 2 yorkie pups didnt know what i was in for but they were the best thin I ever did. sadly today after 6 years I neded to let my dog go, he was the happiest yorkie, he had hip and knee problems, he got new hip and knees and was great, then a few years later he started to honk, I again took him to penn to get help, saldy it was to far down to stent or do much besided medicate him, he was mostly under controll and not in pain or uncomofortable until about a month or so ago, but the heat we have this week and last really takes a toll no matter how cold I keep my house. Today was the day I needed to let him go as he was really suffering. My other dog said bye to him but seems really confused and lost, anyone have any suggestions, they were opposite in personality but like 2 peas in a pod. I am not sure a new dog is right for us now or ever. Please let me know any thought about helping my other dog
