I don't know anything about this breeder but as someone who lives in ohio not far from amish country i can say that amish puppymills are alive and well in large quantities. they also have detestable dog auctions in amish country. so being worried after hearing amish isn't considered to be a personal problem with them. I'm not say all amish are puppymillers but it is definitely okay to be concerned.

So like the OP said, go with your gut on this one. we often get distracted by the cuteness factor of the puppy that we don't listen to our heads. try sending emails to the breeder and ask them some of the harder questions that most bad breeders will try to sidestep. ask about living conditions, where they raise the pups, how they socialize them, about the dam & sire. ask a million questions if you need to to feel assured. and if the only question they have to ask you is if you have enough money to pay in cash or how long it will take for you to pay on paypal then look for a different breeder.

However, with all of your doubts i would find a breeder you're more comfortable with.
