I took my baby to one of those Petco dog training puppy courses. They taught us to get one of those 6 foot leashes and connect to harness of course. U r supposed to teach them to walk on one side all the time. Each time they walk ahead of u you have to pull the leash back so they r behind u. It's really repetitive and takes dog awhile to learn. When they walk by your side or slightly behind u praise them. They have u initially try to make dog walk slightly behind u so they understand better. And each time u stop walking you're supposed to make the dog sit. So each time u start walking u say Zoe heel. When u stop u say Zoe sit. U can change the start word. The class used it bc it's not a word we use commonly. It takes a lot of practice. |
