It took me awhile to get her to let me brush her teeth, but the vet said it is a must! AT first, I used a gauze pad, and just rubbed them a little bit. Then I used the finger toothbrush that came with the Petrodix Toothpaste. Then, A very small child's tooth brush and open up the side of the mouth and get the back teeth first. She still balks at the front teeth being brushed, but waits for me every morning by the sink to do her thing! I like the Petrodix, though it is expensive. I just bought the Hartz's , but it is really thin and runny, so don't really like it. The Petrodix is more the consistency of human toothpaste. Good Luck! Pat
