I can't stand seeing people do that.

Not long ago, there was a truck coming from the other direction and right before he met us, his dog, a chow, jumped out of the truck in front of us. It tumbled across the road and was laying on the side. I thought surely it was dead. And the idiot was oblivious until he flagged him down. We stopped and he stopped and miraculously, the dog was still alive. He sat up, but had blood coming out of his mouth and wouldn't get up and move. The worst part was, it was a big chow, named "Killer". We figured the obvious action would be for him to rush the dog to the vet. Wrong, he just keep sitting there looking at it, saying "Oh man, oh man." Guy said it was his mom's not his and it was clear immediately he was afraid of it. I finally told the guy, "Look, you HAVE to take this dog to a vet, he is hurt badly and is going to die if you don't." Told him where a nearby open vet was. Hubby finally told him he would help him get him into his truck and made him get his head. Told him it was his dog and if it bit anyone it was going to be him.
Something in the pit of my stomach told me that if we had not been there, he would have never stopped. He would have left the dog there, and I'd bet my right arm he never took the dog to the vet.
