Just FYI...Gizmo was not very affectionate at first either. He did not want to be held or "confined" in any way. I don't think he was around people much as a puppy. After he came to trust me (after months not weeks) he started to slowly snuggle closer. Now he darn near pushes me out of the bed at night!
He will also sleep on my lap or my feet and watches for me any time I leave the room. He's even made a little bed for himself by my sewing machine to be closer to me.
Please give it time.
