Default OMG 1 came out!!!

ok, I'm know I'm seriously freaking out and probably sound really stupid, but I'm the person that NO ONE could believe would EVER had a d-o-g in her house, now I have a d-o-g with WORMS!!!

so, my Maddie is laying in my lap and I can't even watch TV because I'm so busy watching her butt to make sure a worm doesn't come out, and lo and behold I look and THERE IS A WORM ON ME!!!!!

that's it, I live in a small town and the nearest emegency vet clinic is probably 50 miles or more away, but my regular vet has a 24 hour answering service. so, I call and the lady connects me to the vet on call (when I told her what happened she was pretty freaked too so she connected me ) I tell him the whole story and he told me I could go to our local TSC to purchase an over-the-counter de-wormer to give her tomorrow and then to bring her in monday a.m. I'm telling him worms are coming out of her BUTT and does it pose a risk to my family, he said not to worry about it. HMMMMMMM, I told him that's easy for him to say, he didn't have a worm that came out out a dog's BUTT on him!!!

So for now, I am going to put an old towel on my lap and let her lay on that. I would rather that than have her lay on the furniture or rug on my tile and then a worm come out on that. At least this way I can wash the towel in HOT water tonight. Luckily for me, she sleeps in her plastic carry crate on my bed at night, so I will just wash her bed in hot water in the a.m. as well.

Does anyone know how long a worm could survive once it "slips" out of her???? EWWWWWWWWWWW
