Unfortunately I think it could just be a fluke. You never really know what you are going to get and unfortunately lots of yorkies have problems. I remember when I was looking for a dog I knew I wasn't going to buy one if they were from certain states (because when I would go to pet stores they always say where the dogs are from and this was before I knew about "puppy mills" but for some reason I knew I didn't want a dog from any of the states I remembered on the signs). So I got a dog that was not from any of those states and yet she still ended up having a liver shunt (which I had never heard of before either). I understand your frustration but I don't know if you ever know what is going to be wrong with a dog. You can try your best to do all your research and pray nothing is going to be wrong with your dog but sometimes even that doesn't help. Sorry you are going through all this.
