Sounds like she had either over dose of that drug or an allergic reaction to the drug. They can get accumulated allergic reactions after being on a antibiotic for a period of time. DD got hives after 17 days on simplicef so she cannot get this antibiotic again or any in the family. The immediate reaction to a drug is when they go into anaphylactic shock. The fact that she was warm to the touch and in pain I would be thinking one of those two or both occurred.
I am glad they are using milk thistle as that and juiced zucchini brought my friends bull mastiffs liver values down quickly after her two got into a toxic plant.
What are they saying caused this?
I really doubt it is cancer
