The pb is for flavor and a tad of protein ( though you are getting more from the yogurt) it also helps thicken the mix a tad.

You could skip it all together. Just maybe increase the amount of banana or throw in some fresh blueberries too.

Think of it like a smoothie. Add what ever you think would be a good combo.
