I would stick to what your vet gave you. I got Reeses two weeks ago and he he had kennel cough coming from the breeder's(another story, another time). He took Clavamox first with no help....and to later develop pneumonia, and now he is on Baytril and the cough seems to be getting better and better day by day. I have heard kennel cough can take weeks to months to clear up,,,,I leave a humidifier on for him while I am at work....to those who used the vaporizer, what did you use? Is it safe? Can I put it in my humidifier, or do I need to get a vaporizer???
