All this information about side effects of Doxy is the same for adults. I was on it for maybe a month or so and it is very strong medicine. Like Dwerten posted, the prescription cautioned to wait a minimum of two hours for an antacid. The medicine changed my taste buds while I was on it too. All foods tasted very strange--like a metalic taste. I'm pretty sure that the meds would have worked for me but the side effects (especially EXTREME sun sensitivity) were too much for me to handle. The point of my long story is that if I reacted like that to the meds and had to stop it I really believe your Daisy is reacting to it as well. Now, since the antacid was given to her maybe that triggered a bad reaction. I'm so worried about your sweety. Prayers from us.
