You should wait until all puppy shots are done. I usually have my pups hair cut when they are around 5 months old... by then they usually look like they've stuck their paws in a light socket.... the hair is so wild!
You can trim between the eyes and around the butt and underside for now to keep your pup looking a little more "neat".
