I use nature's miracle but since it's costly, I use a solution of 1 part white vinegar to 3 parts of hot water. I add essential oils to my mixture to cut the smell of vinegar along with 2-3 drops of Dr. Bronner's magic soap (available at whole foods or online). Depending on the room, I use different essential oils. I have only tile and hardwoods in my house and this works great. I also use the same solution to neutralize the smell of urine on my pee pads after use until I get around to washing them.

Also, for carpets, vinegar can soften them up as it is a natural fabric softener. For added freshness, sprinkle baking soda on the carpets after a steam clean with vinegar and water and vacuum up. I throw essential oils in there too.
