Just noticed you are from KY - what part? I am now living near Richmond.
As for the jumping part, I keep them stapped in. I use a tripler that is connected to a strap that is connected to the seat belt. I give them enough lee-way to where they can jump out and lie next to the snoozer if they want. I don't have the "Buddy" one b/c I can't afford to give up 2 seats in my backseat now b/c of foster parenting lol so I had to settle on the regular sized one which is actually just perfect for them. Sure, they will never argue with more room, but they love to snuggle and sleep together so its funny to watch them all cuddled up!
