Thanks FrankiesMommy. It took us almost a year to get to the point that we'd let our french mastiff out of his crate while we weren't there. At that point, we felt he'd gotten over his 'destruction' phase and would be ok. And he was. But Bailey is too small to be out and about while we're gone, I'd worry about Dozer (our french mastiff) sitting on him, or hurting him in play; not to mention him chewing on anything & everything he can get his paws on. I have definitely given a babypen/xpen a thought, but we literally don't have any room in our house for one.
