Jackson's had free roam since 5 months old pretty much. The thing was, he still wasn't 100% potty trained by then, but he NEVER once had an accident when we weren't home. He only had accidents when we WERE home, lol. When we're gone, he literally just sleeps the whole time, haha.
We did a crate for maybe 2 weeks, then moved to an ex-pen for a bit, then he got babygated in my bedroom, then got free roam.
Although when we visited and slept over my dads house, he has had free roam since probably 14-ish weeks old... my dad felt too bad leaving him crated when the 2 other dogs were not (big sap!) and I was so scared but we only left for 1/2 hour and came back to perfect little angels. The upstairs, however, is gated off because the cats live up there. I've just been really lucky, he's not destuctive when no one is home anyways. |
