I use Frontline Plus on my little guy (he weighs 5.5 lbs) and it has worked for us. I've never seen a flea on him, but we've also never had a flea outbreak in our house, so mostly it's been preventative. We also use Sentinel for our monthly heartworm preventative which also prevents flea eggs from hatching. Frontline Plus has work well for us - but I know some people prefer to stay away from flea medication for their own reasons.
