About 10 years ago I had little girl named Leah I thought was pregnant. When I took her for x-rays to see how many she was having I told the vet I was pretty sure I felt 3 little pups. He came back in and said not three little pups, three little stones. Based on her urine, they were Struvite and the doctor told me about a diet made by Hill's Science Diet that I fed her and they dissolved. I needed to feed it to her exclusively and not give her any treats or any other food. No cheating or it wouldn't work. I think it was for 4-6 weeks. She went the rest of her life without having a recurrence. I feed her the dry form of the food but after she went to live with a retired woman, I don't think she kept her on that. When her mama died, I got her back and she remained with us for another 2 yrs until she died when she was 11.
You may want a second opinion if your vet didn't offer this option to you. Good luck with your little one.
