I wish I could help you. I had a scare with Lila last fall. We took her to the park and 2 days later noticed a tick on the top of her head it was a horrible time for us I remember waiting it out to see if she had Lyme disease. We are blessed she does not. Lila never showed any symptoms and they did a heartworm test a few months later to make sure. My vet also told me the parts of NY state it is rare to see this.
Again I am sorry about Daisy your post is a reminder to what Lila could have faced had she had this. I hope you are able to connect with someone on YT who can help with this.
