A year sounds too long to me. A week at most because you would want to know the current state of the pup before undergoing anesthesia. Far too many things could happen in a year to even remotely consider that good practice.
My only concern with it being done somewhere else the day before, is if it would be back and to your vet in time for the surgery. |
