i called the vet's office to make an appointment to have bijou spayed and i asked about the pre-op bloodwork. of course it is optional (not surprised), but it was nearly as much as the spay itself!!
i inquired whether i could get it a day in advance somewhere else at a lower cost and he said yes. i asked if 24 hours was too far in advance and he said no. then he said that the bloodwork lasts for up to a year!
this doesn't make sense to me ... if the bloodwork is "pre-op" why would it last for a year? i asked him if he was sure and he seemed so certain, but i'm still not sure....
what are your thoughts?!?
