What a great idea Panama69! Another idea would be to loosen/soften the harness. Here's how you do it:
Put some isopropyl rubbing alcohol on a cotton ball and rub all over the leather, you may have to use several cotton balls. Repeat the process a couple of times. Then rub vaseline into the leather. This should soften the leather, but it loosens it too, so if you have a belt that's too large, probably don't want to do this. In that case, the sherpa lining would be your best bet.
