Any tips on how to accomplish it? Do I crate her and leave the room, letting her hear me wander around and do housework and stuff? Or will it make it tougher on her, to know that I'm around but unattentive? TO this point, I've been at her beck & call, playing with her when she's not asleep and following her everywhere when she's awake.
I've had my yorkie for 3 weeks now and he still isn't adjusting well to his crate. He isn't going to the bathroom in it, but man, he throws a temper tantrum when we put him in it. None of my other dogs have taken this long to adjust and it's getting pretty frustrating. IMO, when she's in her crate and you're home and she's yelping, ignore her & don't let her out until she quiets down. If you let her out while she's crying, she'll think that's how she gets out. I've been randomly putting Bailey in his crate while I'm home, in hopes of him settling down, but thus far it's not working. It's even to the point that he starts barking after I've taken him out to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night and wakes my fiance up. Good luck. I feel for you if it's gotten to the point that I'm at right now
