Pat is right too. There are a lot of purebreds turned in and unfortunetly for the mixed breeds - it is the purbreds that are adoopted faster. So sad. We try to help our local pound as we can. We do buy food and take it by there when we can and when we take the food in we talk with them and they tell us how it is going and we see when animals are turned in. The last one was a purbred bassett hound. The father turned it in since he could not take the barking.
