Its funny that you say not in your freshman year because through a research paper I just did for class on pet therapy, it has been shown that pets relieve stress and anxiety during your freshman year and help to act a support system for new students.
But I do agree, your freshman year has enough adjustments and adding a dog during that time may be difficult.
