One of my friends' hubby (who is a St. Louis police officer) was wounded in the line of duty. Their story just chokes me up because he is lucky to have survived. 16 bullets were fired at him (only 4 completely penetrated his body, others grazed his body and created deep wounds). Anyway, his recovery will be very long and he is currently in the hospital and after his next surgery he hopes to move to an inpatient facility where he can relearn many day to day functions. His goal is to one day walk without a limp. Both he and his wife are in their 20s so I know it probably feels as though his dream career has been shattered.
Another forum I am apart of is having an online auction on blogspot. There will be new items posted daily. Bidding starts at 9am EST and ends at 9pm EST. All proceeds will go directly to this officer (Joseph Haman) and his wife, Liz to help cover medical expenses, etc.
