I am just glad your tiny little guy was not hurt in the process as I am imagining all the ways he could have hurt himself. Why doesn't your friend take her dog to the vet to find out for sure if she is pregnant so she can prepare for the possible puppies? If she is not pregnant, she may have something else medically going on to cause the reason your friend thinks she might actually be pregnant like an infection or something. Her vet could tell her for sure.
