Anne, what a scare and I was so relieved to read the rest of your post. I have only spent a short time in Arizona and had no idea that scorpions could be such a threat ... especially in ones home.

I quoted the post below because, this is why I appreciate Yorkie Talk so very much. Our members are just a wealth of information and although I never this about Lavender ..... I do now. Thank you !

It is my understanding that Scorpions are a problem in the south of France and they use Lavender as a natural repellent. Cut lavender on window sills and thresholds. Lavender oil and soaps in dark areas. Since they are low to the ground and sensitive to moisture loss, a black light when hunting them down in your house. Once a nest has been established and they've multiplied a professional is needed. It seems that may be necessary anyway to do away from their food source; other insects...do away with insects they leave.
