Okay, a question about having a stud in the home. What if you dont want the dogs to mate when the females are in heat? Im thinking of starting with three females? Say a season comes around and you decide you dont want puppies. Do you just have to keep them seperated? I know I know lol please no eye rolling |
Yes, dogs can get STD's and spread them to one another. SO make sure to test each one. My males always have belly bands on, when a female is in heat and I don't want her bred, I keep my males in another room and/or supervise them around the female. My female also wears a diaper during her cycle. Bands & diapers will not prevent a breeding, it is just an aid, you must supervise or separate them. My males are pretty good boys, they listen well and know the meaning of "no", I have taught them well.
