I use frontline plus on my big guys- When I'm fostering a smaller rescue dog, I usually measure out the amount needed for the dog's weight into a syringe and seal the remainder in a dark amber glass bottle that I label. I learned to do this when I was teching at the emergency clinic several years ago. Pretty common practice and VERY cost effective. I personally wouldn't purchase anything like that from someone who doesn't have 100% feedback though- unless the person who left them neg. feedback makes it a common practice of doing so.
