I've had Roxie 8 months now, and in that time she has never come upstairs of her own free will. There are 2 landings and 12 steps in between, and I guess it seemed pretty daunting to her. I have felt comfortable leaving her home alone because I have known that she wouldn't go up and down the stairs, and possibly hurt herself.

Well, this morning I came up to the office to do some work on the computer, and the next thing I know she is up all the stairs and standing in the office! She was totally nervous being in a part of the house that she normally doesn't come into, and when it came time to go back downstairs I had to carry her because she wouldn't go down by herself.

Now I am a little worried. I don't want her going up and down the stairs, especially with her bad knees, but I don't want to start with gates and barricades again either. I guess I will just have to keep an eye on her and see what happens.
