I had a Westie who was having problems getting his ears to stand. What the vet told me to do was to take a pencil and curve the ear around it (what you're looking for is a U shape) and put a couple wraps of scotch tape around it to hold the position (no pencil! it's just a guide). It's lightweight, doesn't bother them after a few minutes, and helps the ear "learn". It could take a couple of weeks or a month or so ...

Teething seems to make ears that *had* been standing fall over again. Don't know what the correlation is, but afterwards, the ears go back up.

In any event, the floppy ears on pups are adorable. Even the one up/one down are just as cute as can be. Do a forum search for pics for the floppy ears and you'll see what I mean
