I have 3 yorkies and they all are different. One is silky and does have a shiny look and cool to the touch. My cotton coat is thick and tends to be poofy looking when long, so I keep her in a short cut. Real cute on her. I just got my third, he is a boy...he is 16 months and has a mixed coat. It is soft to the touch but still parts on the back, it isn't as silky but yet lays flatter than my cotten coat. I like having the 3 differant coats. They all have a different look to them.
