I understand the concern with germs in a hospital, but I think they need to try and put more procedures in place for pets to visit their owners because I think it is very good for the spirit, to see your pet
As to the original topic: I try to take mine with me as much as possible but I won't leave them in the car, unless I can see it from where I am, and I won't sneak them in where they are not allowed, so they don't go everywhere with me. They get to go out plenty though. And they are fine when they are home, they are never crated and stay together, so they are always fine and happy when I get back.
