I agree with this statement.
You are not alone I did not do my homework either and 2 out of my 3 have issues. One alot of issues too. She has atopic dermatitis, hypothyroid, mvd and luxating patella4. It seems like everytime i take her to vet they find something more wrong with her but she is happy and my most playful pup so I know she has a good life. I get her the best specialists and try to give her the best life I can. She is 6 now. Last night our smoke detectors went nuts and she started limping so I am stressed YET AGAIN. I just have realized she is going to be a constant challenge sadly. My other yorkie almost died of pancreatitis and has ibd and has done well for 4 years. Once you get them balanced it is much easier.

You can learn and you can help others which is what I try to do so others do not make the same mistakes. Even if you try to find the best breeder out there sometimes things just happen just like in humans there are no guarantees when it comes to health. This is why after dealing with all this for the past 6 years I chose not to have skin kids as I know my limitations and this has been very hard on me. I work full time and try to take care of them the best I can while helping others along the way.
Hang in there and the best advice I can give is yahoogroups for specific illnesses as those people know what you are going through with that particular illness and are a great means of support as they have helped me alot as well as here on YT.
I think the most hurtful things I have encountered in dealing with all this are the people who have never dealt with this saying mean things as if I wanted sick dogs and wanted to learn all this stuff. I never did just was dealt this hand and doing the best I can with it day by day. I wanted healthy dogs too but for some reason it was not in the cards and I was meant to learn and share what I have gone through with others such as yourself
