She apologized again, and said she found out who brought her up and it was just some high school volunteers! And she said that they never should have had Layla in their care at all. Nothing like this should have happened. She let everyone know and the issue is being sent to their nursing department to have it dealt with. She said she's making sure it will never happen to another dog again. But I can't stop thinking why did it happen to OUR dog?

We had no wags yet today. We're going away for the weekend, to my parents' cabin. The last time we were there, Layla was having the time of her life running around in the snow. She loves being out there in the summer too. But now it's making my heart hurt.

I know I need to stay positive but it's just incredibly hard.
All of you have made it through the worst part, now time, patience, and positive thoughts are what is best for Layla. Look at all you have already done, everyone knows that you want what is best for Layla. Perhaps she needs a nice break from everything as well. This weekend maybe a welcome reprieve for her. So go, enjoy, carry her around for walks, let her soak in all the nature.

Keep doing what all of you have been doing...remember let her recover in her own time. Sending all of you lots of thoughts and prayers.
