For the potty issues, NEVER EVER HIT HER OR SCOLD HER! What you will create by doing so is a dog that will not "go" in front of you. She'll start hiding her pee and poop in the house or you'll create submissive peeing which is incredibly hard to break.
If Sadie has no health problems then, forgive me for being blunt, it's the owners fault that she's having accidents in the house. When you're potty training, you have to watch them like a hawk if they have free roam of the house. In order to correct the behavior, you need to catch her in the act and show her where it is ok to go. Praise, praise, praise, when she does and treats work well too. Also, if you give her opportunities to succeed, as in take her out often, then she'll have a greater chance of pottying in the right place. Having a set schedule also helps. After a while it'll be predictable for her to know when it's potty time and they will go "on time."
For those moments you can't watch her, place her in an ex-pen, crate, or gate her off in an easy to clean part of your house (ex. kitchen, bathroom)
As far as barking, I can't get my almost 2 year old to bark once! So I have no advice for you there. Good luck!!!
