Was it cartilage or an actual bone? If he throws up that is not a bad thing since if he did eat a bone it would be better that it didn't enter the intestines where is could cause a big problem. Also I wouldn't think a bone would be able to travel into the intestines as quickly as is being suggested. Have you been able to reach an ER vet?
