I thank you for all your opinions about the rescue. I know applying for one isn't easy, so I won't get my hopes up if we decide to apply.
The spay/neuter prior to rehoming does seem to vary with each organization. The one my parent's went through allowed them to take their boy home un-neutered only because the vet wasn't comfortable doing the procedure until he topped 3 lbs. They had to put an extra deposit on him that was refunded after he was neutered. He quickly reached that thanks to my dad
